Welcome to the American Bariatric Medicine Institute.

There isn’t “one solution fits all” at ABMI. Our goal is to provide you the finest care, physicians, and care team that will result in losing weight and eliminating or reducing complications due to obesity. Your BMI (Body Mass Index) will help us determine the right solution for you.

At ABMI, we have both surgical and non-surgical treatments for the treatment of obesity. Our counselors can discuss these options with you at length and will help you determine which one is best for you. Once you’ve scheduled and completed a consultation, you will be provided with a real plan for losing weight and getting back your life.

Our hospital partner, DMC’s Harper University Hospital, has been designated a Bariatric Center of Excellence with the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and with Blue Care Network.
Some of our programs qualify for insurance reimbursement. We work with several Michigan based health insurance plans.
